Below is a description of some of my classroom course projects.
During
most of 2000, I worked for Helios
Custom Training developing an extensive 5-day training course for
Grand Circle Travel's new reservation system. The course materials
include a detailed Instructor Guide and a Workbook with hands-on
exercises. The project required managing many details in an
ever-changing software development environment, learning the new
system and working closely with Grand Circle personnel.
In the Summer of 1999, I developed a 4-hour
training course for Centerstone software. The course teaches end users how to use the Move Coordination
Tool, a powerful add-on module for Centerstone's premiere product: APPLIED
FMS. This tool helps users coordinate large moves in a corporate setting.
The course included a student guide, exercises and a PowerPoint slide
presentation.
I worked as part of a writing team with
Helios Custom Training to develop a comprehensive course on a whole spectrum of
computer subjects. My modules included networking and databases. I worked
with a subject matter expert, a project manager and a team of writers on
this course. I also conducted research on my own into the subject.
I worked with Helios over a number of years
writing Self-study guides on a variety of subjects for NCR sales
personnel. These guides introduced complex subjects to sales staff and
allowed readers to develop an in-depth understanding at their own pace.
Subjects included pen-based computing, systems integration and guides on
NCR hardware. I worked closely with a Helios project manager and NCR
subject matter experts to produce these guides. I also participated in a
5-day sales training course for NCR personnel on Pen-based computing.
